Find Your Voice

Between a full Symphony Orchestra, two Wind Bands, a Jazz Big Band and Combos, Trombone Ensemble, and the nationally-renowned Marching Bucs, there are numerous opportunities to perform. Whether you want to major in music, minor in music, or if you just love the trombone and want to keep playing in college, there is a place for you.

Go Far, Go Together.

The ETSU Trombone Ensemble gives multiple concerts on campus every academic year, goes on an annual tour with our friends in the Tuba/Euphonium Studio, and has even been invited to perform at the International Trombone Festival.

Be Supported

There are several funding opportunities for musicians at ETSU:

  • Music Service Award: for in-state students, the MSA provides $3,000 annually, renewable for four years of study.

  • Creative Arts Scholarship: for out-of-state students, the CAS effectively reduces tuition to be the equivalent of in-state.

  • Powell Orchestra Scholars Program: provides $4,000 annually, renewable for four years of study, for one tenor trombonist and one bass trombonist.

  • Instrumental Performance Scholarship: provides up to $2,000 annually, renewable for four years of study.
